Our playgrounds are open again!

Barstow Heights Community Services District
is excited to announce that...

Our playgrounds at both parks
are open to the public again!!
Just in time for Easter weekend and
Spring Break! (for B.U.S.D. schools).

We'd like to THANK YOU for your patience,
as the playground areas at both of our parks
were under construction and had been closed
for a few weeks more than we had anticipated.

We are thrilled about the addition of three beautiful
NEW shade structures! (2 at Venner park, and 1 at Barstow
Heights Park). As the hot days of summer approach, we are
happy to know that kids in our community will be able to
enjoy much cooler playground areas, even during the
hottest parts of the day.

Please enjoy and have a Happy (and Safe!) Easter!!

(The Barstow Heights Community Services District Board of Directors)
the completion of recent park improvement projects!

  Our brief ceremony will honor the memory of two very special ladies;
Barbara E. Kelley, who gave more than 36 years of dedicated service to our community as a Director of the BHCSD, and Dorothy Davis, whose generous contributions funded the recent additions of new shade canopies, picnic tables, barbecues, trash cans, sidewalks, and trees to beautify the park.

Keynote speakers will include Beverly J. Lowry and Richard (Dick) P. Jacobs. Refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the ceremony.

Park Reminders!

As Spring approaches and the weather begins to warm up, we start to see a big increase in the number of people who visit our Parks each day. We LOVE to see our Parks being enjoyed by so many children and adults! Here are some photos we took recently to show you what makes us smile...

Barstow Heights Park on Saturday 2/21/15 at 1pm.
(corner of H street and Rimrock road)
Someone is having a party complete with bounce houses and a piƱata!
You can also see that the grass is starting to grow back alongside
our newly constructed sidewalk ramp. Our NEW shaded picnic areas
are now much easier to get to with your wheelchairs, strollers, and rolling ice-chests!

Venner Park on Saturday 2/21/15 at 1pm.
(corner of K street and Panamint road)
Another party with a bounce house and kids playing soccer in the grass.
Three separate shaded picnic areas at this location means lots of room for
multiple gatherings/events to take place at one time.
This park also features a large playground area for the children, fitness stations,
a basketball court, beach volleyball court, and horseshoe pits.

We thought it would be a good time to remind our guests about our Park Rules and Regulations as well as answer your most frequently asked question. Our office gets the most phone calls from park visitors inquiring about how to make reservations to use one of our Parks and whether or not we have water/electricity hook-ups available.

At this time, we do NOT take reservations for our Parks. They are always free and open to the public on a "first come, first serve" basis. We also do not have water/electricity hook-ups available. Those who rent/bring in bounce houses, laser-tag arenas, and other such forms of entertainment are responsible for bringing their own generators/air compressors if power is needed.

Finally, here our Park Rules and Regulations as
posted at both of our Park locations:
Please enjoy our lovely Parks!!

Barstow Heights Park is CLOSED Temporarily for Construction!

Construction began this morning (Tuesday 9/9/14), at Barstow Heights Park that is located on the corner of H Street and Rimrock Rd. We are very excited to finally announce this improvement project that the Board of Directors have been planning for more than a year now. The improvements being made will include the construction of TWO new shade canopies (20 feet wide by 40 feet in length), the addition of three new picnic tables, new trash cans, and new barbecues; as well as new cement foundations and sidewalks/ramps that meet all of the ADA requirements. New benches/seating on each side the basketball court will also be added. Our park will soon feature more picnic areas that are covered/shaded and will be much more accessible and user-friendly to guests with wheelchairs, strollers, and rolling ice chests! The project is expected to take a few weeks to complete, so for now, THE PARK IS CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC with the exception of the Basketball Court. The Basketball Court will remain open as long as those who use it will respect the temporary orange fencing and stay out of the closed section of the park.  We are hopeful that we will be able to open the park again beginning Friday, September 19th, as long as the Construction is able to progress as scheduled. In the meantime, we recommend that residents and guests visit nearby Venner Park that is located on the corner of K Street and Panamint Rd.
THANK YOU for your patience while we are
Closed for Construction...
we can't wait to reveal all the NEW improvements
as soon as they are completed!
It's going to be beautiful!!

Here are a few photos we took to try to show you the crowds present at both Parks on Sunday afternoon, March 31st.
