Extension of Candidate Filing for the 2015 Consolidated Election August 7, 2015

The candidate filing deadline for the 2015 Consolidated Election has been extended to Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. for the following school and special district offices:

• Member, Governing Board, Baker Valley Unified School District, 4 Year Term

• Member, Governing Board, San Bernardino City Unified School District, 4 Year Term

• Member, Board of Directors, Barstow Heights Community Services District, 4 Year Term

• Member, Board of Directors, Morongo Valley Community Services District, 4 Year Term

• Member, Board of Directors, Newberry Community Services District, 4 Year Term

• Member, Board of Directors, Rim of The World Recreation and Park District, 2 Year Term

• Member, Board of Directors, West Valley Water District, 4 Year Term

Citizens who are interested in running for one of the above offices may obtain and file the appropriate documents during regular business hours at the San Bernardino County Elections Office, located at 777 E. Rialto Avenue, San Bernardino, CA 92415.

The original filing period ended on Friday, August 7, 2015. Since incumbents from the above offices did not file to become a candidate by the filing deadline, California law allows for a 5 day extension of the filing period.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a general district election will be held in the

BARSTOW HEIGHTS COMMUNITY SERVICES DISTRICT

in San Bernardino County,

on Tuesday, the 3rd of November 2015,

for the following offices:

Member, Board of Directors, 4-year term, Number to be elected 3

 

The qualifications required to be a candidate for the above offices are:

At the time nomination documents are issued, a candidate must be a registered voter residing within the district (and division, if any).

Official Declaration of Candidacy for eligible candidates desiring to file for the above elective offices may be obtained from either the Barstow Heights Community Services District office, 28075 Rimrock Rd, Barstow, CA or from the San Bernardino County Elections Office of the Registrar of Voters, 777 E. Rialto Avenue, San Bernardino, CA, starting on July 13, 2015, and filed no later than 5:00 p.m. on August 7, 2015 at the Elections Office of the Registrar of Voters.

Furthermore, please be advised that the Elections Office will be conducting Candidate Filing in Hesperia at the Hesperia Branch Library on Thursday July 30, 2015 from 12:00pm – 7:30pm. Candidates wishing to file as candidates are encouraged to call the elections office at 909-387-8300 to schedule a time (to allow for less time spent waiting for assistance) or feel free to walk in on that day.

If by 5:00 p.m. on August 12, 2015, only one person has been nominated or an insufficient number of persons have been nominated for the above elective offices or no one has been nominated, and if no petition requesting that the election be held has been presented to the officer conducting the election, appointment(s) will be made as prescribed by Section 10515 of the Elections Code.

that a 2013 Consolidated Mail Ballot Election will be held in the BARSTOW HEIGHTS COMMUNITY SERVICES DISTRICT in San Bernardino County, on Tuesday,
August 27, 2013, for the following offices:

TWO (2) FULL-TERM DIRECTORS
ONE (1) SHORT-TERM DIRECTOR
 

The qualification(s) required to be a candidate for the above offices is (are):

At the time nomination documents are issued, a candidate must be a registered voter residing within the district (and division, if any).

Official Declaration of Candidacy forms for eligible candidates desiring to file for the above elective offices may be obtained from either the secretary of the district, at 28075 Rimrock Road, Barstow, CA or the San Bernardino County Elections Office, 777 E. Rialto Avenue, San Bernardino, CA starting on May 6, 2013. A Declaration of Candidacy must be filed not later than 5 p.m. on May 31, 2013 at the Elections Office.

If by 5 p.m. on May 31, 2013, only one person has been nominated or an insufficient number of persons have been nominated for the above elective office(s), or no one has been nominated, and if no petition requesting that the election be held has been presented to the officer conducting the election, appointment to this office will be made as prescribed by Elections Code Section 10515.
 

NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN,

pursuant to Elections Code Section 12109 that the San Bernardino County Elections Office, 777 E. Rialto Avenue, San Bernardino, CA, is designated as the central counting place for all the ballots cast at the above mentioned election.
